When Jesus called himself the “good shepherd” (John 10:11, 14), he claimed to be the long-awaited heir of David, who would guide his people perfectly.
Pastor Jimmy Stevens was born and raised in Westlake, La. After graduating from Westlake High School, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from McNeese State University. He continued his education through Post Graduate studies at New Orleans Seminary in New Orleans, La. which led to pursuing and obtaining a Master of Theology from Cornerstone University. Ultimately Pastor Stevens received a Doctor of Ministry from Lake Charles Bible College where he currently serves as President.
Pastor Stevens served as Pastor of Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La. for 19 years. He is presently the founding Pastor of New Covenant Faith Baptist Church. He is the author of numerous books, including but not limited to, the book entitled “Your Riches in Jesus Christ” a discipleship exposition of Ephesians Chapter One. His newest release “Lessons From a Lockdown” a compiled book by various local and national Pastors. Pastor Stevens is the former president of the National Baptist Junior Laymen Convention USA, Inc., as well as other community, state and national affiliations.
Pastor Stevens is available as a teacher, speaker, evangelist, and mentor in the areas of Christian education, church growth for small and medium congregations, church planting, leadership structure in the local church, healing for churches in conflict, and family ministry.
Pastor Stevens lives with his wife, Patricia in Lake Charles, La.
Sis. Patricia “Trish” Stevens is the Leading Lady at New Covenant Faith and is a native of Lake Charles, La. She is the youngest of four daughters born to the late r. Oliver & Lillie M. Johnson. Sis. Stevens was baptized as a child at the Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles by the late Rev. W.C. Clark. Sis. Stevens retired after 30 years of service from the State of Louisiana’s Office of Public Health as an Administrative Assistant. Currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor at New Covenant Faith.
The Leading Lady’s experience in ministry began while serving alongside her husband during his 19 years as Pastor of the Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, working in various areas of ministry. She has continued her faithful journey at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church & has always taken an active role in the ministry of serving God’s people in capacities such as:
– Instructor for the New Membership Orientation Class
– Serving as Ministry Leader for the Women’s Ministry (Covenant Sisters)
– Co-Director of Jimmy Stevens Ministries
– Board of Directors and Instructor of Women’s Ministry Series class for Lake Charles Bible College
– Serves as Vice President of the Interdenominational Minister’s Wives and Widows Fellowship of Lake Charles and Vicinity; served as past Secretary
Sis. Stevens is a graduate of Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary receiving a Certificate in Women’s Ministry. She has completed courses in pursuit of certificates such as: “Lifestyle Witnessing for Women”, “Spiritual Gifts of Women” & “Women Work in the Local Church” just to name a few. Sis. Stevens has traveled internationally on various occasions to Dominica, West Indies and the beautiful island of St. Vincent, West Indies.
Sister Stevens wed Pastor Jimmy Stevens 37 years ago and together have one beautiful daughter (Jamie), a son in law (JJ) and one grandson (Jeremiah).
One of her favorite scriptures is “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path”. Proverbs 3: 5-6
