The Bible provides clear guidelines regarding the personal character, spiritual gifts, and practical skills required for this sacred office. Based on 1Timothy 3:1-7, God had set a high standard for those who would shepherd His flock.

Whoever desires to Pastor desires a noble task.

EDUCATION

The prospective Pastor will have formal seminary training from an accredited institution, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (official transcript will be required), and a commitment to continuing personal development by regularly attending church conferences, connecting with other spiritual leaders, and pursuing higher education. Pursuing ongoing growth demonstrates the desire to sharpen their gifts and better serve the congregation.

EXPERIENCE

The prospective Pastor must have some administrative/leadership skills (ministerial experience). He is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the church. This involves managing the staff and volunteers, developing programs, handling finances, maintaining the facility and ensuring the Church runs smoothly.

LICENSING and ORDINATION

The prospective Pastor must show proof of a credible license and ordination certificate given by a noble pastor or a credible institution of the Baptist denomination.

CHARACTER

The prospective Pastor must demonstrate a commitment to his faith and belief and overall good character. Some biblical qualifications are being above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, respectable, and able to teach.

CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT

The prospective Pastor should commit to lifelong learning through workshops, advanced degrees, or certifications.

FULL-TIME POSITION

The prospective Pastor will be required to assume a full-time position for the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church family. He will be required to make a commitment to his pastoral duties such as, preaching and teaching each week, visiting the sick and shut-in, performing marriage ceremonies, presiding over funerals, baby dedications, and other reasonable responsibilities of a full-time pastor.
